When I bought this mirror at Ballard's Backroom, I loved the shape but really did not like the color/finish.
It is part of the Suzanne Kasler Collection. BUT.....of course it was a great deal. It was the only one in there that day and when I saw it, I practically [I have no pride!] ran through a crowd of shoppers like my hair was on fire. I wrapped my arms around it like it was George Clooney and proudly took it to the register, no looking back. I really was not quite sure whether I was going to paint it or not.
After I got home I remembered that I had this Liming Wax and was dying to try it out on something.
I started on the back of the mirror, yes I have learned a thing or two about changing the finish of something, to see what the result would be. OMG....I was loving the outcome, so I preceded to the front and I like it so much better. In fact, I think they should sell it with this finish. They didn't ask me, but that is my humble opinion. Of course it would look cool painted black [what doesn't] or any color. The shape is brilliant. I would like to put it in every room.
Here it is in all it's glory
I just noticed how crappy the orchid was fitting in the mirrored vase. Dang...why didn't I fix that???
I am curious as to what anyone else thinks. Original finish, or the limed finish????
