So funny that the ORC started this week because I got a call from my client who so generously allowed me to detail the designs of her den during my first go around.
In fact the outside of her home was featured in Southern Living.
This time she wants to pull her LR together. It is a narrow room and when you enter from the foyer here is your view.
We are going to work with the sofa...and we will talk more about that later. Lucky for me she had an inspiration image.
She loved this collection of blue and white porcelain and wanted to incorporate some in her room.
Cue me jumping up and down.
I love this look.
There is not room to move the sofa forward allowing for a table behind.....so I had another thought.
After I got home and did a floor plan I realized that the area on the right and left of the entrance to the family room is going to be too far away from the "conversation area"...so let's just make it pretty.
Yeah. Why the hell not.
I put together a rather primitive board.
OK....shut up all you "olioboard pros".
Design tip #1: There is only one window in the room [opposite] so I wanted to create the illusion of more windows by using the 2 mirrors.
Design tip #2: It's nice to have a little symmetry in a room....
Design tip #3: There are no rules in design anymore so these are old school.
If you have been reading my blog for any length of time you will remember my header used to be this.
I am a BIG fan of blue and white porcelain .
My good friend and blogger extraordinar Emily Clark has recently started a collection.
So get on the bandwagon and get yourself some.
Anyway...I will keep you updated as we put the whole room together along with more incredible design tips :)
Y'all have a good weekend.
