Hope everyone had a swell weekend. My husband was flying so my sister came [she only lives 25 minutes away ] and spent the weekend with me. One of the things I did was clean out my closet.
Not the whole thing......let's not get crazy. Just the jean section. Yep, I hauled them all onto my bed and proceeded to start trying them on to see what goes and what stays. I am pretty much done with the ones that have about a 3" rise....the ones that show half a butt crack when you bend over. WHO started that trend anyway. I mean we aren't plumbers.
After about an hour I decided that all jeans without some stretch in them had to go also. I don't need anything cutting off my circulation and then still feeling that way after 20 deep knee bends.
Also eliminated were any that had to be worn with a heel higher than 1 inch. Probably not gonna wear them either. It KILLS me to admit this but I just feel dorky in heels....like I am going to fall over or trip. AND...I have.
All of this info leads me to a point...I needed a jean overhaul. Which is about as fun as doing taxes in my opinion. Not quite as bad as bathing suit shopping....
And I am not going to fall to the trend that you need a hundred styles of jeans and now of course in every hot color. You can lose 20 lbs just trying them on....it's work. So after the great search of July 2016, from 250.00 to 70.00....I finally settled on some good old jeans from the Gap. Basic....blue denim....stretch.....cheap [and cute I might add]. Done.
Let us move on.
Hopefully you have heard of Currey and Co. They are a lighting company based here in Atlanta. Started in 1988 by Robert B Currey as a purveyor of historic garden furnishings. The lighting came about in the 1990's and well....the rest is history as they say!
In May they had a GIANT warehouse sale. In case you think they have these once a year or something.....NO.... I believe this was the second one ever. And let me tell you it was huge and chock full of deals.
I went the first day and wish I had gotten there right when the doors opened. The prices were incredible....
It was 5 times as big as this picture. Rows and rows of lamps...mostly priced at $24-$36......chandeliers, mirrors & garden furniture. YES...you read that right.
Millions of gorgeous lamps. Can you see the price of these...$36.
That is cheaper than Homegoods.
I think this chandelier was like $75 or something.
It started on Wednesday and on Sat afternoon they were slashing prices as low as $15 to $5. Uh huh.
There was a whole section of lampshades...millions....for $10 to $15.
It was torture. I wanted to buy everything.
See this little cutie? I stalked the girl who had it in her cart for hours thinking maybe she would put it back. She said she was keeping it and then proceeded to smile real big every time she saw me......kind of in a "mean girl" way.
Pretty blue and brass. When I first got there I was loading up my cart like a shopping spree at Costco's. After I came out of my daze...I knew I could not go home with 50-60 lamps. Ridiculous.
The also had a few pieces of furniture. Look at these bad boys.
And this.
It was unreal. Everyday they put out new merchandise.....it was the motherload of warehouse sales.
I got 2 incredible lamps for my LR at the price of $50.00 for BOTH! Could. You. Die.
And I already sold my old ones. Moonwalking.
A commenter asked about the name of this yellow and blue fabric....it is Brunschwig & Fils Monsoon Floral and Linen Cotton Print/Caton Blue/Soleil. The stripe is Kravet/Cap Deluca. The Blue floral is Kravet/Ketene-5. The yellow is Duralee 72050-66. The green toile is Robert Allen: Sweetbay Spark/Laurel. The blue geometric is Groundworks GWF-3003-15. The green velvet is Kravet/Versailles-E26914. There you have it.
Also...I am happy to say that I sold Haley's paintings!!! So excited.
Gonna be a good week....The Mart is starting, Scott's [I will be working there on Friday in the North building...more details in next post] and a party at Huff Harrington co-hosted by Ally of From The Right Bank
