Boy...3 yards of Schumacher fabric has everyone in a dither...the same dither I was in when I tried to figure out how to use it in my house.....first. I mean after all it is about me :) I wish I was like Oprah and had 3 yards for everyone.
Just curious...do you enter a giveaway even if it is not something that will fit in your home??? Or do you leave it for the ones who would stab their mothers to win?
I am afraid todays post will not help anyone outside the Atlanta area...sorry. It is about slipcovers and I am going to share a great source with you at the end of this post. STOP.....read first people. Everyone is probably out Christmas shopping today anyway....
First, we must start with just a few pictures because let's face it you guy's will be gone faster than 50% off Christmas decor without visual stimulation.
OK...these are not slipcovers but I wanted to tell you about the different skirts you can use when recovering or slipcovering a piece of furniture. This is called a waterfall skirt. One of my favorites. I think it gives a chair or sofa nice clean lines.
Another view of the same style skirt.
Here is an example of what NOT to do....
I know this is not a slipcover but look how short the skirt is....now go back up the the other picture and see how graceful and pretty it looks with a longer skirt.
You can also NOT do cording but use a french seam instead. Se above picture of chair and ottoman...no cording.
Here are a few more pictures I lifted from
Cozy Cottage Slipcovers. She is located in Ohio.
Nice addition of the added pleat...which gives it a more casual look.
Love the ticking....
Here are just a few more images.....duh...like you can't go on Pinterest and see slipcovers until your eyes start to bleed. But just in case you just woke up from a coma and have never seen them.......
No cording.....
I am using that style a lot now. Just gives it a more modern look.
OK...so see the cording on this cushion???? Well I had the cushions remade without cording and this is just a little preview of the makeover that is happening at Casa Sha Sham right now!!!
Uh huh.....I should finish them up [I have 2] this weekend so you will just have to check back soon.
Also...this might be the fabric I am using....
Notice I did not actually put a specific day that they will be done. I'm not crazy. One little distraction can totally derail my good intentions.
*******Ok...back to slipcovers.....I have a guy who will come to your house and do everything there....Yep...no having to take the furniture out of your home. SERIOUS!********
He is really good.
So here is the
link. His name is Jim Brown. 770 516 0841.......Atlanta. You will not be disappointed. I am thinking black and white ticking for my next set.
Don't forget about that little
giveaway.....
Probably pick a winner on Friday???
Off to continue spray painting......
